The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved three highway projects in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra on 22 April.
The three highway projects with total length of more than 300 km, have an estimated cost of Rs 5,529 crore.
The projects include — eight laning of Mukarba Chowk to Panipat section of NH-1 in Delhi and Haryana with an estimated cost of Rs 2,204.51 crore; eight laning of Agra-Etawah of NH-2 with an estimated cost of Rs 1,787.02 crore; and four laning of the Solapur-Bijapur section of NH-13 in Maharashtra and Karnataka, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,537.64 crore.
All these three projects will be implemented on BOT (toll) model, with the private sector investing upfront for meeting the capital cost of project, which will be recovered through collection of toll during the concession period.
