Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on 28 July, 2025 unveiled a comprehensive Rs 380 crore development initiative for Ambala, aimed at upgrading infrastructure and improving civic amenities.
The announcement was made during the state-level Teej festival celebration held in Ambala City. A major focus of the package is water infrastructure, with Rs 145 crore allocated for expanding Ambala City's water distribution network. Additionally, Rs 40 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a new water treatment plant with a capacity of nine megalitres per day in Sector 24.
To address infrastructure concerns, Rs 60 crore has been earmarked for repairing damaged stretches on both sides of the Satluj-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal. Further, CM Saini inaugurated and laid foundation stones for nine projects worth Rs 73 crore, including four completed projects valued at Rs 26.5 crore and five new ones worth Rs 46.3 crore.
To boost sports facilities, a synthetic track will be constructed at the Sector 10 stadium. For improving drainage in key residential areas, Rs 35 crore has been approved for concreting portions of the Model Town drain, covering Mathura Nagri, Police Line, Prem Nagar, and surrounding localities.
