Infosys plans to invest Rs 1,400 crore to set up a campus in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The campus project will be built on 28 acre of land and is proposed to have eight blocks. The project will comprise a research and development, and software development centre, besides special economic zone components.
Infosys aims to complete 40 per cent of the project in the next three years, by which time it will begin core functions of the project.
The company was allotted land for the campus in sector 85, Noida, on 31 January, 2014.
The company is seeking a floor area ratio (FAR or the ratio of a building’s total floor area, to the size of the land it is built on), of three, against the currently permitted ratio of two. A higher FAR will require the state cabinet’s approval.
Another IT services company, HCL Technologies, is developing an IT city in Lucknow, under the public-private partnership mode. The project is coming up with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore and will be developed over the next 10 years.
