Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, laid the foundation stone on 08 June, 2025 for a major industrial unit of Dhunseri Poly Films in Kathua district. The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dhunseri Ventures, is focused on manufacturing polyester films and was incorporated in November, 2020.
The new manufacturing facility is being set up with a significant investment of Rs 1,240 crore and is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities for the local population. The project will be executed in two phases, according to the LG’s statement during the event. “Kathua district is one of the best places for investors to put money. With these kinds of investments, new employment opportunities will emerge for the local youth,” he added.
The project is part of the administration’s broader push to attract private investment and industrial development in the Union Territory, which is witnessing growing interest from business groups across various sectors.
