NLC India (NLCIL) has secured a letter of award from NTPC for developing a 450 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind-solar hybrid power project, under NTPC’s 1,200 MW renewable procurement scheme via a tariff-based competitive bidding process.
An additional 600 MW is available under the Greenshoe option. This milestone win reinforces NLCIL’s growing leadership in India’s renewable energy transition. Designed to achieve a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 30 percent, the project ensures optimal renewable integration while maintaining grid stability. Power supply is expected to commence within 24 months of signing the power purchase agreement (PPA), which spans 25 years.
NLCIL may also form a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for project implementation. With this project, NLCIL’s hybrid capacity will reach 600 MW, including an ongoing 150 MW hybrid project from SECI in Gujarat. The company remains committed to achieving its 2030 goal of 10 GW in renewable capacity.
