Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company, has commissioned a record 752 MW of solar projects in Q1/FY26, marking a 112 percent increase from 354 MW commissioned in Q1/FY25.
The significant capacity addition was enabled by advanced engineering practices, a robust supply chain, an agile execution model, and effective vendor partnerships that helped optimise costs while ensuring timely delivery even in challenging environments. Following the Q1/FY26 additions, TPREL’s total utility-scale operational capacity now stands at 5.6 GW, comprising 4.6 GW of solar and one GW of wind energy. The company also aims to commission 1.7 GW of its utility-owned capacity and another one GW of third-party projects during FY26.
By the end of FY26, Tata Power targets a total operational renewable capacity of 7.3 GW, including 5.6 GW solar and 1.7 GW wind. These installations underscore Tata Power’s contribution to India’s clean energy capacity and highlight its strategic role in strengthening national energy security and advancing sustainability goals.
