NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has commenced commercial operations of an additional 64.7 MW solar power capacity in Gujarat as part of its 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project.

The latest addition, which became operational on June 30, marks the third phase of capacity addition under the central public sectoruUndertaking (CPSU) scheme Phase-II, Tranche-III. This follows the commissioning of earlier phases—110.25 MW operational since 06 June, and 146.7 MW which came online on June 28. The entire Khavda-I Solar PV Project is being implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL.

The CPSU scheme is aimed at promoting domestic solar manufacturing and self-reliance in clean energy generation. NTPC Green Energy’s expansion under this scheme reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s transition to a sustainable energy future. With this, NGEL continues to strengthen its renewable energy portfolio, helping NTPC advance toward its ambitious 60 GW renewable energy target by 2032.
