A major boost to civic infrastructure in the Sanwer assembly seat came with the ‘bhoomi pujan’ of development works worth Rs 305.23 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, led by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav in Kanadia village in Indore district.
The project involves an 80 MLD sewage treatment plant at Dhankhedi, major pumping stations on the Khan river, and 179 km of sewer lines ranging from 250 mm to 1800 mm. The Minister added that these projects will transform newly included urban areas, ensuring universal access to drinking water and sewerage. Mayor Bhargav recalled that after 29 villages were added to IMC limits, the Corporation worked to provide equal services to all areas. Additional AMRUT 2.0 packages will bring new pumping stations and 83 km of sewer lines, benefiting nearly 3.5 lakh residents.
Indore Municipal Corporation will kick off multiple AMRUT 2.0 projects worth over Rs 70 crore in the Rau Assembly Constituency, including a six MLD intermediate pumping station costing Rs 53 crore, and 56 km of new sewer lines. Additionally, Package-4 will add another 27 km of sewer lines at a cost of Rs 17.35 crore to further strengthen the area’s sewerage network.
