As many as 58 companies, including global players have registered for the production-linked incentive (PLI) 2.0 scheme for IT hardware. The Ministry of Electronics and IT, Secretary, Alkesh Kumar Sharma said this along the sidelines of an event organised by the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA).
While domestic companies have registered for the scheme, more than two entities have already applied for the scheme, as informed by the Minister.
The scheme covers laptops, tablets, all-in-one PCs, servers and ultra-small form factor devices. The government has extended the last date for receiving applications and has fixed the deadline of 30 August, 2023.
The Rs 17,000-crore incentive scheme is projected to generate an incremental production worth Rs 3.35 lakh crore over a period of six years.
