Integrated textile company AB Cotspin India has announced a major expansion plan involving an investment of up to Rs 1,500 crore to significantly increase its manufacturing capacity.
According to a stock exchange filing, the investment will be funded through a mix of bank financing, internal accruals, and government incentives. The expansion includes adding 2,00,000 spindles to its current capacity of 50,832, effectively quadrupling its spinning operations. The new capacity will be established across key textile hubs in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and is expected to be operational within three years.
"This strategic project covers a wide spectrum: acquiring land on lease; setting up state-of-the-art manufacturing plants for spinning, ginning, yarn manufacturing, and processing; developing modern warehousing and logistics infrastructure; and building facilities for the sustainable utilisation of by-products," the company stated.
The company emphasised its continued commitment to green manufacturing, including increased adoption of renewable energy. Deepak Garg, Managing Director of AB Cotspin, said, “Doubling our spindle capacity is not just about scale; it's about enhancing our integrated, sustainable manufacturing ecosystem.”
