Apollo Tyres is proactively looking to explore sustainable alternatives to natural rubber and incorporating bio-based materials into its production. It has collaborated with research institutions and partnered with Tyromer for recycled rubber from end-of-life tyres into the manufcaturing process.
“We are committed to a greener future,” said Gaurav Kumar, CFO of Apollo Tyres, adding, “By 2030, we aim to source 40 percent of our materials from renewable or recycled sources.”
The industry's increased investment in R&D, and focus on developing greener chemistries, expected to result in superior products for consumers has been highlighted.
