On 19 December, 2025, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu intensified efforts in Delhi to secure approval for major infrastructure and industrial projects.
He met with Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to discuss the proposed Rs 96,862-crore refinery project, which CM Naidu described as a landmark investment. The refinery is expected to significantly boost India’s refining capacity and energy security. The CM informed the Minister that 6,000 acres of land have already been allocated for the project, and the public hearing for environmental clearance has been completed, ensuring a smooth path for rapid progress.
"This refinery will generate large-scale employment, catalyse industrial growth, and give a major boost to the state's economy," CM Naidu said. He also highlighted the plans for MSME ancillary units and shared that 3,488 acres have been earmarked for a shipbuilding project, with the techno-economic feasibility study already completed. The initiatives aim to fulfil commitments under the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
