Collector Himanshu Shukla has announced that land acquisition for 11 major industries in SPSR Nellore district is underway.
Six companies are already in the process of acquiring land, while land identification continues for the remaining five. The district's planned development, focuses on industrialising the western region to match the eastern part. Discussions are ongoing with industrialists for setting up units in Atmakur, Udayagiri, Jaladanki, and Duttalur areas. For the BPCL oil refinery project, 3,200 acres of the required 6,000 acres have been acquired, with the rest to be secured soon. “If everything goes well, the foundation stone for the BPCL project will be laid in February 2027,” Collector Shukla said.
The land acquisition process for Indosol Solar is also progressing. Additionally, the State Cabinet recently approved land allotment for IFFCO Kisan SEZ, and efforts are being made to hand over Kovur Sugar Factory to APIIC for further industrial development.
