Auriga Research has signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to enhance food, pharmaceutical, and tea sectors in Assam. The agreements, made with the Government of Assam and the Tea Research Association (TRA) during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, aim to improve quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and global market competitiveness.
Auriga Research will set up an advanced testing laboratory for food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, Ayurveda, and medical devices in Guwahati or Dibrugarh, expected to commence operations within nine months. This facility will serve domestic and export-driven businesses, ensuring adherence to national and international quality standards.
Another milestone is the MoU with TRA to upgrade Assam’s tea testing infrastructure. Assam, contributing nearly 50 percent of India’s tea exports, faces challenges in affordable, high-quality testing, particularly for small growers and Bought Leaf Factories (BLFs). This agreement seeks to provide cost-effective regulatory compliance solutions, helping the tea industry meet international standards and expand exports to key markets like the EU, US, and Middle East.
The Assam government will facilitate policy support, fast-track clearances, and seamless implementation, aligning with the state’s Ease of Doing Business policies. Auriga Research will also assist TRA in training programs for tea farmers, implementing structured quality monitoring, and supporting food processing industries across Northeast India.
