Work on the proposed Jeans Park at Sanjeevarayana Kote, on the outskirts of Ballari, Karnataka has picked up pace with tenders floated for development.
The project envisions a dedicated hub for the denim industry under the ‘Made in Ballari’ label. Govind Naik, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) Assistant Executive Engineer, confirmed that 154 acres were acquired at Rs 40 lakh per acre, and work orders have been issued. The Park is designed to host over 500 units, consolidating stitching, washing, and sales operations.
“The plan is to bring all activities under one roof,” said Naik, adding that KIADB will establish common effluent treatment plants to address pollution concerns. Officials said Rahul Gandhi may lay the foundation, with completion expected in 12–18 months.
