Bannari Amman Sugars is likely to commence work on the expansion project of
its sugar unit in Kollegal in Mysore district of Karnataka by August 2010.
The expansion entailing an investment of around Rs 300 crore is expected to
raise the sugar production capacity from the existing 2,500 to 6,000 tccpd. The
project will also have a 18 MW cogeneration power plant.
