The Bihar government has taken a significant step towards modernising the state's urban infrastructure by approving the construction of satellite and greenfield townships across 11 major locations.
These new townships will be built outside existing congested cities, providing organised residential areas with modern amenities such as wide roads, parks, hospitals, clean drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, markets, office spaces, and an efficient transport system. The project aims to reduce population pressure in urban centers while offering improved facilities and employment opportunities. Nine divisional headquarters, along with Sonpur and Sitamarhi, will host the development.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasised that this initiative will accelerate Bihar's growth with modern technologies and a forward-thinking mindset. He expressed confidence that the townships would bring vital services and improve quality of life for residents. The project, if completed on time, could mark a pivotal transformation in Bihar’s urban landscape.
