BirlaNu will set up a greenfield fibre cement board plant in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step in the company’s manufacturing expansion.
The first phase involves an investment of around Rs 127 crore and is expected to generate nearly 600 direct and indirect employment opportunities. Equipped with advanced and sustainable production technologies, the facility will boost regional economic activity and improve the supply of high-quality building materials to both domestic and export markets. A key feature of the plant is its use of fly ash from coal-based thermal power stations, supporting circular economy practices by reducing industrial waste.
In the second phase, BirlaNu plans to expand the site with units for PVC pipes, fittings, and construction chemicals, creating an integrated manufacturing hub in the Nellore industrial region. Managing Director and CEO Akshat Seth said, “Our new fibre cement board plant in Nellore marks an important milestone in BirlaNu's expansion journey. It strengthens our manufacturing footprint and generates meaningful employment.”
