CESC, a RPG Group company, expects to complete land acquisition for its
proposed 1,000 MW coal-based power plant at Neulapoi in Orissa's Dhenkanal
district by June 2009.
CESC needed about 1,200 acre of land for its power plant which was being set
up at a cost of Rs 4,042 crore. It has sought 1,200 acre of land from the Orissa
Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation for the power project.
The Environmental Impact Study for the plant has been completed and a supply
of 40 cusecs water per day from river Brahmani has also been approved.
Meanwhile, the company is expected to issue a LoI to the EPC contractor by the
first week of April.
