Carlsberg India has inaugurated a new can line at its Mysuru brewery as part of its expansion strategy in Karnataka.
This development follows the company's commitment at Invest Karnataka 2025, where it pledged an investment of Rs 350 crore to enhance the Mysuru facility. With an investment of Rs 100 crore, the new can line will increase production capacity to 22,000 cans per hour, allowing the company to meet rising demand for beer in cans. India Managing Director Nilesh Patel highlighted that the expansion reflects Carlsberg's long-term vision for the Indian market, emphasizing the company's dedication to Karnataka. "Through this expansion, we aim to sustainably produce international-quality beers, contribute to state excise revenues, and create employment for the local community," he said.
The brewery, located in Nanjangud taluk, also incorporates sustainability features such as solar energy and biomass boilers. In addition to production, Carlsberg is focusing on water management through local partnerships.
