Kimaya Himalayan Beverages is planning to launch its barley-based homegrown lager BeeYoung beer in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu by April 2024. The company is also developing wine-based beverages to cater to consumer preferences.
Currently, the product is available in five markets in North India including Delhi, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, and has recently entered Punjab and Chandigarh. In terms of product portfolio expansion, the Delhi-based beverage manufacturer is focusing on creating a beer for the premium end of the market as well as working on understanding consumer needs and targeting various segments.
At present, Kimaya has a contracted annual production capacity of one million cases, equivalent to around 2,00,000 hectolitres spread across different units.
In 2022, the company utilised 100 percent of the contracted facility, producing 100,000 hectolitres. It has now expanded to doubled capacity, with the aim to reach 2,00,000 hectolitres, and will monitor for potential additional expansion.
