Continental AG is planning to expand its tyre manufacturing operations in India.
The company through its Indian arm will invest around Euro 50 million (approx Rs 330 crore) by 2013 to augment capacity at its existing production facilities and foray into the radial tyre segment in the country. The proposed investment will be made into recently acquired Modi Tyres Company’s Modipuram facility in Uttar Pradesh. Post expansion, the facility will produce 2,00,000 units of radial tyres for commercial vehicles.
