DICABS Nextgen Special Alloys, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Diamond Power Infrastructure (DIPL), has started commercial production at its second rod mill located in Vadodara, Gujarat, as of 29 September, 2025.
This fully integrated rod mill is dedicated to manufacturing advanced AL59 wire rods—next-generation aluminum-based alloys designed for high-efficiency power transmission conductors. The new mill has an installed capacity of 2,500 tonnes per month, or 30,000 tonne annually, commissioned with a capital expenditure of Rs 20 crore.
Earlier in March 2025, DIPL began commercial operations at the first rod mill with a capacity of 2,400 tonne per month, part of the greenfield facility established under DICABS Nextgen. The facility plans to have three rod mills in total, with a combined monthly capacity of 7,500 tonne and a total investment of Rs 55 crore. With two mills now operational, only the third rod mill is pending commissioning.
