A defence industrial corridor, entailing an investment of Rs 20,000 crore, will come up in Bundelkhand, Uttar Pradesh. The announcement was made during the UP Investors Summit 2018.
The project will bring development in one of the most backward regions in the state. The proposed project will create employment opportunities for 2.5 lakh people.
The government has decided to extend the defence corridor to Agra, Allahabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Chitrakoot.
In the Financial Budget 2018, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced development of two defence industrial production corridors in the country, of this one will come up in Uttar Pradesh.
