Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar SSK is expanding the sugar capacity at its Arvind Nagar plant in Maharashtra.
A spokesperson for the company informed ProjectsToday, that it was expanding its sugar capacity from 2,500 tccpd to 5,000 tccpd, at Arvind Nagar, Kashegaon Post, in Osmanabad district.
The work also includes expanding the distillery unit from 30 klpd to 60 klpd and the bagass-based power unit from 16 MW to 26 MW.
Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar SSK has appointed MITCON Consultancy Services as the consultant; Vasantdada Sugar Institute as EIA consultant; Avish India, Pune, as a contractor; Meru Industries to supply boilers, and Triveni Turbines to supply turbines for the expansion.
The project entails an investment of Rs 101 crore. The expansion project is scheduled to be completed by March 2015.
