E-commerce company Flipkart has expanded its footprint with the launch of its grocery fulfilment centre in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is the second such centre for the company after Vijayawada, and would create about 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. 

The 77,000 sq. ft. fulfilment centre will deliver 8,000 orders a day in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram. It will ensure next-day grocery deliveries, and would offer a range of over 6,000 products from categories such as dairy, staples, and FMCG products.

Overall, the new fulfilment centre will address the growing demand  with an array of superior-quality groceries at a great value to consumers. Further, it is expected to improve livelihood opportunities of several small businesses, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and local farmers in the region.
