Forum Malls, the retail arm of Prestige Group, plans to nearly double its shopping centre portfolio by launching 14 new malls across India’s major cities by 2029, CEO Muhammad Ali has stated.
Currently operating 11 malls, including eight with Nexus, the firm is focusing on Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. “Urban markets are where the money is, where people have both the means and the appetite to spend. In tier-II cities, affordability may exist, but the propensity to spend simply doesn’t match metros,” CEO Ali said, highlighting continued demand in tier-I markets.
The company is also set to debut India’s first athleisure-focused mall by 2027 near Bengaluru’s international airport, covering 8,00,000 sq. ft. with global sportswear brands, fitness studios, and lifestyle outlets. Forum anticipates a 15 percent rise in festive season footfall and revenue this October, investing 30-40 percent of its annual marketing budget into the October-December period, which contributes heavily to annual sales.
