Gas Authority of India (GAIL) plans to expand its network with 85 new compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in the next two years, according to Rakesh Kumar Jain, Director for Finance.
He also mentioned that GAIL aims to achieve a gas transmission volume of 134-135 million standard cubic meters per day (MSCMD) by FY 2027, with 124-125 MSCMD expected for the current financial year. GAIL also plans to boost its gas sourcing by six to seven million tonne per annum (MTPA) by 2030, from the current 17 MTPA. Additionally, GAIL expects a capital expenditure of Rs 9,000-10,000 crore in the upcoming financial year, excluding new projects.
“A lot of capacities are coming on stream, and they are helping the price to go down,” Rakesh Kumar Jain said, highlighting the potential for increased gas consumption in India.
