GAIL India is planning augment the
capacity of its petrochemical plant at Pata in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh
from the proposed 5,00,000 tpa 8,00,000 tpa. The plant currently has a capacity
of 4,10,000 tpa.
The company is also setting up a
2,20,000 tpa petrochemical plant in Assam. It also signed an agreement with
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Oil India, Mittal Investments and France's
Total to set up another petrochemical complex and crude oil refinery at
Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
The gas utility is also looking to set
up a 1 million tpa petrochemical plant overseas in partnership with Reliance
Industries.
