The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has proposed an estimated Rs 67.5 crore project to upgrade the 7.5 km Ardee City Road, connecting IFFCO Chowk to Sector 56.
This project aims to improve the road’s capacity to handle the growing traffic, especially with the construction of a new Metro station near Fortis Hospital. The current road lacks service roads and footpaths, despite heavy pedestrian and vehicle movement. Planned improvements include the construction of service roads, drains, and footpaths, along with road re-carpeting. Additionally, slip roads and better drainage are planned to reduce congestion and pedestrian bottlenecks. An underpass near Z Chowk, costing Rs 80 crore, is also part of the plan to ease traffic flow.
Residents from sectors 28, 29, 44, 45, 51, 52, 55, 56, 57, Sushant Lok, RD City, and nearby areas will benefit from the upgrades. "The expansion of this road will significantly increase its carrying capacity and reduce congestion," said a GMDA official.
