Garg Acrylics is planning to commission its cotton yarn at Talwandi Saboo in Bhatinda district of Punjab.
A spokesperson for the company informed ProjectsToday (PT) that the company was setting up the project with a capacity of 2.3 lakh spindles in Punjab in four phases. The project is spread over 55 acre.
At present, work on Phase-I and Phase-II is completed and work on Phase-III and Phase-IV is underway, with completion scheduled for June 2014 and December 2014, respectively. The capacity of Phase-I and II is 70,000 spindles each. Phase-III comprises a capacity of 60,000 spindles, and Phase-IV will have a capacity of 30,000 spindles.
The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,000 crore. The company has appointed R S Builders from Bathinda, Punjab, as the civil contractor and Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) and Savio from Italy, as machinery suppliers for the project.
