The government of Manipur and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) signed pre-implementation agreements for four new hydropower projects.
The hydroelectric power projects are at Khongnem Chakha, Tuivai, Pabram and Irang.
At Khongnem Chakha, the power project is to be constructed at a total cost of Rs 439.71 crore and will generate 67 MW of electricity. The Tuivai Hydroelectric project, estimated to cost Rs 325.06 crore, is expected to produce 51 MW of electricity.
The Pabram setup cost is Rs 1,031.67 crore and will generate 190 MW. The Irang project is going to produce 60 MW of power with an overall cost of Rs 331.20 crore.
The four projects are slated to be completed in five years.
