The Gujarat government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Henox IT and Data Centre to establish a cable landing station in the Khambhat region.
The agreement, signed at a regional AI conference in Gandhinagar, is aimed at boosting Gujarat's digital infrastructure. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted that the project will position Gujarat as a key hub for hyperscale data centres and make it a vital gateway for global data traffic. "This will make Gujarat a preferred destination for hyperscale and enterprise data centres," CM Patel said.
This is the latest in a series of such MoUs; the state had previously signed one with Lightstorm in 2022 for Gujarat's first cable landing station. The new cable station is expected to enhance global connectivity, supporting AI/ML startups, fintech, and digital infrastructure, while attracting international investment.
