HFCL has bagged an order valued at approx. Rs 157 crore for the supply of various types of optical fiber cables. This order is part of the BharatNet Phase III project and pertains to the West Bengal Telecom Circle.
The order has been awarded by Tera Software, a consortium partner of ITI, which is involved in the implementation of this large-scale digital infrastructure initiative. The cables are integral to enhancing broadband connectivity in rural and remote areas of West Bengal.
HFCL, known for its expertise in manufacturing and supplying telecom infrastructure products, will execute the supply over a period of three years. This timeframe aligns with the scheduled rollout of the BharatNet Phase III program in the region. BharatNet is a flagship project of the Government of India, aimed at providing high-speed digital connectivity across the country, particularly targeting gram panchayats and other underserved regions.
