HP India has shelved the plan to set up a printer manufacturing facility in India. The company in 2015 was exploring setting up such a facility.
The tax changes in 2017 had prompted the company to re-assess the proposal.
The company currently has a research and development (R&D) facility for printing in Bengaluru, Karnataka, employing more than 500 people. It caters to India and other regions.
HP India is also setting up a centre for 3D printing in Andhra Pradesh’s MedTech Zone (AMTZ), which is a joint venture (JV) with the Andhra Pradesh government.
