The
construction work of the new refinery at Bhatinda in Punjab is expected to be
completed by December 2010. The 9 million tonne refinery is being set up by HPCL
in association with Mittal Energy on PPP model at an investment of Rs.18,900
crore. Promoters are confident that against the target of 42 months, the
refinery will be completed in 39 months. It will be a sophisticated refinery
with modern technology and will produce petro products complying Euro V
standards.
HPCL's
LPG bottling plant at Irumpanam near Kochi in Kerala will be commissioned by
March. The plant set up at an investment of Rs.32 crore, will have a capacity of
44,000 tonne a year.
