Hospitality giant Hilton has announced the signing of Hilton Chennai Egmore, a new 195- room hotel set to open in January 2029.

Developed in collaboration with MKR Estate Developers, part of the MGM Healthcare Group, the hotel will be a key part of a larger mixed-use development in Chennai’s Egmore area, which will also feature a commercial office complex. This expansion reinforces Hilton’s growing footprint in India and will mark its second flagship property in the city, alongside the existing Hilton Chennai.

The upcoming hotel will offer nearly 17,000 sq. ft. of event space, including two ballrooms, a boardroom, and a meeting room—positioning it as a premier venue for business conferences, social events, and corporate gatherings. The development aligns with Hilton’s broader strategy to double its presence in India within five years. Additionally, Hilton is set to launch its first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in the country, opening in Bengaluru by 2026.
