The Himachal Pradesh
government has given its approval to independent power producers for
implementing 13 hydropower projects in the state. Moserbaer, DCM Sriram
Infrastructure, Jindal Steel and Power, Patel Engineering and ANS Construction
will execute these projects having an aggregate generation capacity of 1,583 MW.The power projects
mainly located in the basins of the Sutlej and Chenab rivers in Lahaul and Spiti
districts will be implemented on BOOT basis.
The companies have
been invited to sign pre-implementation agreements with the state and deposit
the fixed upfront premium of Rs.20 lakh per MW, a pre-implementation agreement
is compulsory before starting any project in the state.
Moserbaer has amassed
five projects with a total generation capacity of 1,048 MW. These are the
Riyoli-Dugali (420 MW), Saili (320 MW), Teling (69 MW), Miyar (90 MW) and Saach
Khas (149 MW) projects. Jindal Steel and Power has got the 60 MW Lara, 40 MW
Kuling Lara and 70 MW Mane Nadang projects, while DCM Sriram Infrastructure
bagged the Khoksar (90 MW) and Tingret (81 MW) projects.
Patel Engineering has
been allotted the 236 MW Duggar plant in Chamba district, and ANS Construction
the 7.5 MW Kilhi Bahal project in Kangra district.
