IKEA is exploring additional store locations in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, complementing its presence in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Deputy CEO and CFO of Ingka Group (IKEA), Juvencio Maeztu, revealed IKEA's strategic expansion plans for India.
The company is constructing two major shopping centres in Noida and Guru Granth, featuring an IKEA store, and is preparing to launch online sales in Delhi NCR. It's commitment to affordability and sustainability will be reaffirmed through efforts to provide sustainable living solutions. To this end, IKEA plans to increase local sourcing from 30 percent to 50 percent and achieve 100 percent renewable energy usage in its Indian operations this year.
Moreover, 90 percent of deliveries in cities like Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangalore are already conducted via electric vehicles, underscoring IKEA’s dedication to reducing its environmental footprint.
