Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has sought the cooperation of the Orissa
Government to speed up work on its 15 million tpa refinery project at Paradip.
The support required includes for widening a 10 km long road linking the
project site to Paradip port for movement of machineries along with the signing
of the lease agreement for a patch of government land within the project site.
The project is to be implemented in two phases. While Phase I comprises
setting up the refinery, Phase II involves setting up of a petrochemical
complex.
About Rs 6,000 crore has been spent by IOC on the project which is likely to
be commissioned by March 2012.
