ITC Group has asked for land from the Punjab government to set up a food processing unit in the state of Punjab.

The company has been looking for land somewhere near Jalandhar or Ludhiana in order to set up a food processing industry.

ITC has a diversified business which includes five segments -- FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), Hotels, Paperboards, Paper & Packaging and Agri Business.

Another corporate, Hero MotoCorp, is also looking forward to setting up an education facility or a university in the state and also plans to expand its healthcare business.

The state government is also working on creating jobs in the fields of IT, textiles, and health. Also, the Punjab Government is looking forward to completing the construction of 4-6 lane highways in the state in the next three years, as well as constructing a domestic airport which is expected to come up in Bathinda, and an international airport in Mohali.
