In a key move to facilitate the MR-10 road project, the Indore Development Authority (IDA) will build high-rise apartments for affected families.
“IDA board on Friday decided to construct housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 on a 1.613-hectare plot (FP-422) within the IDA's Town Planning Scheme (TPS)-08,” said IDA CEO RP Ahirwar, noting the flats will enable relocation and road development.
The IDA Bboard, chaired by Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, also cleared major infrastructure tenders, including Rs 48.81 crore for a new rail overbridge between Laxmibai Nagar and Mangalia stations on the MR10 road. Additional approvals covered shifting of High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) lines—Rs 3.93 crore for completing work on a 60-mtrs. wide road, and Rs 1.90 crore for removing line obstructions to master plan roads in TPS-4 (Nipania and Kanadiya).
The board also sanctioned construction of a 12-mtrs.-wide link road from Ring Road to MR-11, with street lighting and HT/LT line relocation, further strengthening city connectivity.
