JSW Energy, which is setting up the 240 MW (3x80 MW) Kutehr hydropower
project on the upper reaches of river Ravi in Chamba district of Himachal
Pradesh, is expected commence power generation by 2015. The project is being set
up at a cost of Rs 1,915 crore.
At present, the company is conducting geological survey for the project.
The company had appointed SNC-Lavalin Engineering for preparation of the DPR.
The DPR has already been submitted by SNC, which recommended the setting up of
the project based on the hydrological assessment carried out by them using
available data. JSW has obtained no objection certificate and environment
clearance for the project.
The concession period for the power plant was 40 years from the date of the
project achieves commercial operation.
