Jindal Steel & Power has tripled its annual heat-treated plate capacity to seven lakh tonne, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing capabilities.
This growth strengthens the company's offerings in high-strength, abrasion-resistant, and defense-grade plates, catering to industries such as construction, shipbuilding, and oil and gas transportation. SK Pradhan, Chief Marketing Officer of Jindal Steel, noted, "Whenever a new requirement emerges in plates, we have it covered. We've even created fire-resistant steel, no other steel company in India offers this."
The company's upgraded facilities can now process plates from six mm to 200 mm in thickness and up to five mtrs. in width. Jindal Steel's products, which include quenched and tempered (Q&T) plates, will contribute to India's manufacturing goals and export potential. The expansion also includes plans to improve supply chain efficiency with infrastructure projects like a port and slurry pipeline.
