KEI Industries has announced that the first phase of its Sanand plant in Gujarat will commence commercial production by December 2025, following a four-month delay.
The plant's capacity will initially reach over 50 percent of its rated output, contributing an estimated Rs 3,000 crore to revenues starting Q4/FY26. The delay is attributed to prolonged rains and labor issues during construction. The second phase of the plant, which will focus on Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) cables, has been delayed by around nine months and is expected to be completed in FY27.
The plant will feature advanced vertical continuous vulcanization (VCV) lines for EHV cables, with a 158-mtrs. tower currently under construction. KEI’s current EHV cable production at its Chopanki plant continues to see healthy demand, especially from export orders, contributing to the company’s robust order book of Rs 636 crore.
