K.P.R Mill intends to set up an integrated sugar mill in Bijapur district of Karnataka, thus diversify in sugar sector.
The company will be investing around Rs 325 crore in the project which will also have a 33 MW co-generation facility. The capacity of the sugar mill will be 5,000 tccpd. It will go on stream by October 2012.
Besides, plans are afoot to expand its textile manufacturing capacity at an investment of Rs 550 crore. The investment includes setting up a greenfield facility at Karumathampatti (Tamil Nadu) and expanding its existing units. The facility in Karumathampatti will be commissioned in October 2011.
