KPR Sugar Mills is expanding the capacity of its sugar unit located at Almel village, Sindagi, in Bijapur district of Karnataka.
ProjectsToday (PT), has been informed that the capacity of the sugar unit will be expanded from the existing 3,500 tccpd to 5,000 tccpd. Also, the capacity of its bagasse-based power unit will be increased from the present 15 MW to 34 MW. The project will also include a 90 klpd distillery unit.
The project has been set up with an investment of Rs 190 crore and about 171 acre of land has been acquired.
At present, machinery erection work of the sugar unit is underway and work on the distillery and bagasse-based power unit is expected to commence by June 2015.
