The government of Karnataka is planning to take the public-private partnership (PPP) route to build houses for slum-dwellers across the state as part of its housing policy.
The draft of the policy is likely to be brought before Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa and Minister of Housing V Somanna.
The government seeks to construct four lakh houses under PPP as part of its slum redevelopment programme. In all, the housing policy aims to construct seven lakh houses in rural Karnataka and 14 lakh houses in urban centres.
