L&T's Heavy Civil Infrastructure business has secured a large order from Torrent Energy Storage Solutions for the construction of India's largest pumped storage project, the 3000 MW Saidongar-1 Pumped Storage Project (PSP) in Raigad, Maharashtra.
The project will include ten units of 300 MW each. The contract involves the design, engineering, and execution of all civil and hydromechanical works. This major initiative aims to enhance grid reliability and energy security for Maharashtra and beyond. L&T’s involvement underscores its expertise in executing complex hydroelectric and pumped storage projects of national importance.
The Saidongar-1 PSP is crucial for grid stability, meeting peak power demand, and supporting India's energy security while contributing to decarbonisation goals.
