The MMRDA has sanctioned locational clearance to a total of 34,63,720 sq mtrs
of land to accommodate 1,99, 529 rental units to be set up in Raigad and Thane
districts.
From the 22 proposals approved by the authority, the Thane Municipal
Corporation has granted building permission to four developers. These developers
are to construct housing units at Majiwada, Panchpakhadi, Chitalsar-Manpada and
Naupada areas. The Mira-Bhayandar and Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporations have
granted permission to each developer in Mahajanwadi and Shahad areas.
The remaining 16 proposals are expected to receive approval from respective
local bodies soon.
